Welcome Jeff Burchfield to IFADC
The Iowa Falls Area Development Corporation (IFADC) welcomed Jeff Burchfield to the team this year as a part-time Administrative Assistant. Jeff succeeds Amanda Sorensen, who served in the role for three years.
Jeff brings more than two decades of leadership and community engagement experience through his career in education. He served as principal of Riverbend Middle School for 21 years and spent an additional year as high school activities director before retiring from education in July 2025. His strong organizational skills, community relationships, and steady leadership are already proving to be valuable assets to IFADC.
Even in retirement, Jeff remains deeply involved in the Iowa Falls community. In addition to his role with IFADC, he also serves part-time with Iowa Falls Chamber Main Street and continues as assistant coach of the Iowa Falls–Alden high school cross-country team. Many in the community also recognize Jeff as “the voice” of the Panthers and the Cadets, as he provides game-day announcing for Ellsworth Community College and Iowa Falls–Alden basketball, as well as middle and high school home track meets.
Outside of his professional and community commitments, Jeff is an avid cyclist, having ridden every RAGBRAI since 2002, with the exception of last year, when he served as co-chair for RAGBRAI – Iowa Falls. Jeff also loves music, and is determined to “buy the ticket” during his retirement and enjoy as much live music as possible.
IFADC is pleased to welcome Jeff to the team and looks forward to the continued impact of his experience, energy, and commitment to the community.
