1409 North Fremont Street, Iowa Falls, IA 50126 (641) 648-4671The Plant Operations Director is responsible for making the premises of the retirement community safe and well-maintained for the residents, employees and the public. The Plant Operations Director is responsible for all areas of equipment, grounds and building maintenance. The Plant Operations Director is responsible for the supervision and direction of the Plant Operations Assistants. The Plant Operations Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
The Plant Operations Director should have experience in basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry skills and read/understand technical/operations manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Supervisory experience and experience in a long-term care environment is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past two years. Knowledge of Life Safety and OSHA regulations required.

Maintain, repair and service all facility equipment and furnishings as required Follows safety policies and infection control guidelines, assuring resident safety and compliance with all federal and state regulations Coordinate the preventative maintenance program and ensure completion of tasks Perform routine inspections across campus as required by regulations for systems such as fire, sprinkler and boiler Coordinate projects and ensure progress and completion with outside contractors Assist in the development and ongoing review of Scenic Living Communities' Emergency Preparedness Plan Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of Scenic Living Communities, including painting, repairs, relocation of equipment, reallocation of space to improve sanitation, appearance and efficiency Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests Assist with transportation of residents as requested Provide training to all staff in areas of Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, OSHA, etc. Maintains cost records and meets budgeted guidelines Manage, train and schedule Plant Operations team Direct vendors and regulatory inspectors to meet code requirements Develop and lead campus safety committee Position requires 24/7 on-call status
