Position Summary Iowa Falls State Bank is seeking a growth-minded Agricultural Loan Officer who pairs a strong sales track record with deep ties to rural communities and a solid grasp of agricultural operations. You’ll build and manage a high-quality ag loan portfolio while building trusted relationships with producers, ag businesses, and rural landowners. Position Details - Drive portfolio growth: Proactively source, develop, and close new ag lending opportunities through field visits, farm calls, agribusiness events, and referral networks. - Advise producers: Structure credit solutions for operating lines, equipment, livestock, real estate, and facility improvements tailored to farm cycles and risk profiles. - Underwrite responsibility: Gather financials, analyze repayment capacity, collateral, and market conditions; prepare credit memos; and present recommendations. - Manage Relationships: Maintain ongoing contact with borrowers, monitor loan performance, and support renewals, modifications, and cross-sell opportunities. - Engage the community: Represent the bank at local ag events, FFA/4-H, extension meetings, and commodity groups to deepen brand presence and trust. - Ensure compliance: Adhere to policy, regulatory requirements, and prudent credit administration.
Sales of Ag-Related Products (Required) - Proven success generating and closing business in ag-related products or services (e.g., seed, feed, equipment, inputs, precision ag, or insurance). - Demonstrated pipeline management, territory development, and consistent quota attainment. Knowledge of Agriculture (Required) - Practical understanding of crop and livestock operations, seasonality, input costs, yields, and risk management. - Ability to speak the language of producers and tailor solutions to farm realities. Connection to Rural Iowa (Strongly Preferred) - Established presence, network, or background in rural Iowa communities. - Comfortable with on-farm visits, ag events, and community engagement across our footprint. Finance and Banking (Preferred) - Experience with credit analysis, underwriting, and ag lending products is a plus. - Familiarity with financial statements, cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation, and loan documentation. Skills & Traits - Relationship-first, highly self motivated, and results driven. - Excellent communicator with strong listening and problem-solving skills. - Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable spending more time out of the bank meeting with agricultural clients than behind a desk. - Tech-comfortable (CRM, loan origination systems, productivity tools). What Success Looks Like (12 months) - Builds a robust pipeline and meets or exceeds new loan growth targets. - Earns trust with producers by providing timely, practical guidance and responsive service. - Maintains high-quality credit standards and on-time renewals. - Becomes a visible, engaged participant in the rural Iowa ag community.
