Iowa Falls is part of the Iowa River Greenbelt, a 30-mile stretch of wilderness along the river that provides camping, canoeing, fishing and hiking opportunities.  The river is also popular for boating and skiing activities.  There are over 100 acres of parks in Iowa Falls, several of which are located along the river.  The natural scenery of the parks, the cliffs and the river has given Iowa Falls the well-deserved name of Iowa's "Scenic City".

 

In addition to providing beautiful landscape throughout the city, the parks also provide sporting and entertainment facilities.  Jones Park features the Meyer Municipal Aquatic Center where parents and children alike can enjoy a day of fun in the sun.  The Bill Riley Band Shell, located in Estes Park, is the perfect setting for summer concerts.  Other parks feature softball fields, lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic facilities and boat launches.

There are two nine-hole private golf course, Highland and Meadow Hills Golf clubs, located in Iowa Falls.  Don't worry about calling for a tee-time or playing 18 holes of golf in 6 hours or more.  On an avergae day, you can play golf by yourself, with friends/family and/or do business on the course and truly enjoy your time on the course.

 

The Ellsworth Municipal Hospital is a 42-bed acute care, general hospital that serves Iowa Falls and the surrounding area.  Services include Outpatient and Inpatient surgery, Endoscopy, Telemedicine, Teleradiology, state of the art Laparoscopy, pathology and radiology services, nuclear medicine, ultrasound (Doppler, color flow), in-house CT scan, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, chemical dependency programs, inpatient mental health services, partial hospitalization, outpatient mental health services with four community sites, cardiac rehabilitation program, stress testing, obstetrics, OB/GYN on staff and health promotion programs.  Physicians include General Surgeon/Trauma/Critical Care, OB/GYN and psychiatrist.  There are 16 visiting specialists offering 13 Outpatient Specialty Clinics including: Ophthalmology, Urology, ENT, Cardiology, Neurology, Allergy, Cardio-Vascular, Orthopedics, Podiatry and Oncology.

McFarland Clinic with 4 family physicians also serves Iowa Falls.  The McFarland Clinic proudly offers mammography, X-ray, lab services, audiology, diabetic education, dietetic counseling, allergy injection, optometry and physical therapy.  Mary Greeley Medical Center also offers a Dialysis Center from within the clinic.  Iowa Falls Family Dentistry is also located in the Family Health Care Center.

Several dentists, an orthodontist, two optometrists and two chiropractors also serve the community.  AMR Ambulance provides 24 hours emergency service for Iowa Falls and the surrounding area.
